Methodology
This page describes how Multi-Agent Guide collects and checks its data.
Data sources
- GitHub REST API: stars, forks, license, primary language, last push, latest release, archived status.
- Official documentation and README files: features, architecture, orchestration pattern, human-in-the-loop support, protocol support.
- Official pricing pages: pricing model.
Descriptions are written for this site. The GitHub repository description is used only as a reference.
Refresh frequency
- GitHub numbers are refreshed once a day by a scheduled job. Each tool page shows the date of its GitHub snapshot.
- Editorial fields (features, architecture, protocols, quickstart) are re-checked by hand. The "Last verified" date on a page is the date of the last manual check, not the date of the last automatic refresh.
Protocol support
Each MCP, A2A and AG-UI cell is one of:
- Yes: official documentation or the README describes support, and the cell links to that text.
- Partial: support exists with documented limits (for example client only, or through a community adapter), and the cell links to the evidence.
- No: official documentation states it is not supported, and the cell links to that statement.
- Unknown: no statement was found in official documentation or the README. Unknown does not mean unsupported.
Every cell carries the date it was checked. No cell is filled in by guessing.
Install verified
"Install verified YYYY-MM-DD" means the official install command was run on that date in a fresh temporary environment (a new Python virtual environment or an empty Node.js project), followed by an import or version check. No model API was called and no API key was used. It does not mean the tool was evaluated on real tasks. Install failures are recorded under "Common pitfalls" on the tool page.
Pros, cons and scenario fit
Pros and cons are limited to points that can be backed by documentation, issues or release notes, and each one links to its source. Scenario shortlists state their selection criteria and the reason each tool is listed.
Unknown values
"Unknown" is a valid value. When a field has no evidence, the page says so instead of estimating.
Public API
A read-only JSON API serves the summary data shown on the tool pages: name, type, short summary, languages, license, pricing model, GitHub numbers, protocol support with evidence links, and the page URL. It also lists the scenario and comparison pages. The OpenAPI description is at /api/v1/openapi.json. No key is needed. Requests are limited to 60 per minute per IP address, and responses are cached for up to one hour.
The API does not return the full tool pages (features, quickstart, pros and cons, FAQ). Summaries are written for Multi-Agent Guide. If you reuse them, link back to the tool page given in the url field of each item.
